The Metalbone HRD sits at the convergence of marketing and genuine performance. Both things are true: it is one of the most powerful rackets available, and most players who buy it will struggle with it for longer than they expect.
Diamond balance and a hard carbon face mean the swing weight is significant. Players transitioning from intermediate rackets consistently report a 2–4 week adjustment period where their placement deteriorates. Those who stick with it report substantial gains in smash quality and net pressure. Those who don't put in that adjustment time end up with an expensive liability.
The comparison most often drawn is the Bullpadel Vertex 04: similar power ceiling, slightly more forgiveness on the Bullpadel, meaningfully higher price on the Metalbone.
