Bullpadel NB2: Why the WPT chose it and why it matters

VERDICT

The benchmark ball. When you need a reference point, this is what you reach for.

The NB2 became the WPT match ball because it passes the test every tournament ball must pass: it plays the same in session one as in session three. Bounce doesn't get bouncy. The felt doesn't go bald in the first hour. The seams stay consistent.

Community consensus from club players mirrors the professional feedback: the NB2 is the clearest example of what a padel ball is supposed to feel like. Players report it as the best reference point for understanding how their racket actually plays — if you've only used cheaper balls and switch to the NB2, you'll immediately notice how much more information the ball gives you on contact.

The honest caveat: it's more expensive per ball than the training options in this database, and it loses pressure faster than durability-focused alternatives. The NB2 is for match days and serious training sessions, not for the five-days-a-week grind. If you're replacing balls constantly, this gets expensive. If you're replacing them when they actually die, it's worth every cent.
